The St. Paul's community is here to love and support you through every walk of life.
Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body the Church. The bond which God establishes in Baptism is indissoluble. Holy Baptism is administered within the Eucharist as the chief service on a Sunday or other feast.
Each candidate for Holy Baptism is sponsored by one or more baptized persons. Sponsors of adults and older children present their candidates and thereby signify their endorsement of the candidates and their intention to support them by prayer and example in their Christian life. Sponsors of infants, commonly called godparents, can be the child's own parents or an important adult in the child's life. Parents and godparents are instructed in the meaning of Baptism, in their duties to help the new Christian grow in the knowledge and love of God, and in their responsibilities as members of this Church. During the ceremony, the godparents present their candidates, make promises in their own names, and can also take vows on behalf of their candidates.
If you feel drawn to be baptized or wish to sponsor an infant or child to be baptized here, please speak with our Rector, Mark
Christian marriage is a solemn and public covenant between two people in the presence of God. In the Episcopal Church it is required that at least one of the parties be a baptized Christian and that the ceremony be attested by at least two witnesses.
As a result of the Supreme Court’s rulings in July 2013 on California Proposition 8 and the Federal DOMA, St. Paul's is honored to witness and bless lifelong covenants of same-sex relationships. We use the program and rite from “I Will Bless You and You Will Be a Blessing”, commended for study and use by the 77th General Convention of the Episcopal Church. The Rector and Vestry of this parish consider same-sex marriages full Episcopal marriages.
If you are interested in becoming married at St. Paul's, please contact our Rector, Mark
We celebrate the life of every member of the body of Christ, in their life, and in their passing. St. Paul's is here to love and support one another in difficult times.
If such an event arises, please contact our Rector, Mark as soon as possible to make arrangements.
