Society of MaryAre you curious about the role of the Virgin Mary in the Episcopal Church? How can she fit into your spiritual journey?
The Society of Mary (S.O.M.) may be just the organization that can answer your questions. It is a society that dates back to 1893 and has members all over the world. It is not confined to just Anglicans, although it was founded as an Anglican society. The objectives of the society include loving and honoring Mary and seeing her as a model for living the Christian way of life.
The "Our Lady of San Damiano" Ward of the Society of Mary meets on the first Sunday of odd months (January, March, etc.) after the 10:30 Mass. The Society is active at St. Paul's parish in prayer ministry and in community service to help with the educational needs of under-privileged children. They also erected and help to maintain the neighborhood outdoor grotto of Mary of Nazareth, Prophet of Peace as a safe place for prayer for peace and non-violence in the lives of the youth of Pomona.
Come join us and deepen your faith by asking Mary to accompany you on your journey. You will be welcome so bring your questions and curiosity.
